From Skis to Polo

Swapping skis for a Segway and mallet is unheard of but thanks to Victor White, we can write about it.

White is Swedish-born 20-year-old of Barbadian decent, who is currently on a mission to qualify for the 2018 Winter Olympics in Korea. If he qualifies, he will make history, becoming the first Barbadian to accomplish the feat.

Usually traveling the world for competitions and practice, this time around he returned to Barbados. He got a taste of Segway Polo among other sports, as part of a shoot to promote the island by the Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc.

The talented Free Skier received an in-depth tutorial from former club president, Ralf Luther. He quickly became comfortable on the segway with the mallet in hand and blended in with other club members seamlessly in match play.
